Dear Friends, Family, and Alumni,

This year the brothers of Delta Upsilon undertook a new and exciting philanthropy. At the end of the last school year we decided we needed to undertake a new event to promote our charity, the Boys and Girls Club.

On April 18th, our brothers closed down the Southern section of Fee Lane between Foster Dormitory and the Kelley School of Business, and we held the First Annual Little Point Five Soapbox Derby.

Our event turned out to be a huge success. Nine drivers competed for the title of “Fastest on Fee Lane”. Lambda Chi Alpha eventually won the competition, and Alpha Omicron Pi won “Best Decorated Car”. In the end we raised about $1,100 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bloomington, Indiana.

Our event also featured the Red Bull Wiings Crew and a performance by the Clayton Anderson Band. We received donations from the Indiana University Student Association, the Indiana University Student Foundation, B97 Radio, First Hospitality Group Inc., and the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association.

Next year we hope to repeat the success of the Little Point Five by raising more money and involving more students in the cause to help the Boys and Girls Club.

Sincerely,

Andy Gordon

Chairman, Little Point Five Committee
